Lessons Learned and Reminders from a Recent Feedback on Interview

Things I already know, have done in past, but this recent interview I was so tunnel visioned on answering the technical elements of Agile that I did not provide the context nor the situation and results of my learnt experience. Going forward I am to remind myself the following based on the feedback I received:

  • Answer questions more directly without overthinking
  • Ground my responses more clearly in my past work by referencing my resume and project portfolio
  • Apply the STAR method to better structure my answers
  • Be more mindful of managing my time effectively to ensure I can complete all questions thoroughly.

One of the most encouraging highlights the interviewer shared was that I was “not far off of getting an offer”. With more mindful practice I’ll do better in the next interview for a Project Manager / Business Analyst role.
